Zoo Day: Kindergarten Adventures in the Wild!

Students look at animal exhibit

Kindergarten teachers chose the Woodland Park Zoo as a field trip because it aligns with the life science standards in multiple ways. Students will explore plants and animals in different habitats. They will understand the basic needs of living things (e.g., food, water, air, shelter).

We use the zoo field trip as a way to launch our science curriculum and extend our study of habitats.  We all had a fun day at the zoo!
