Principal's Message - February 5th

Message From

Dear Families,

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Family Cocoa event on Saturday and for your generous donations to the food bank and staffroom. It was wonderful to see so many of you and have the chance to connect!

It has been a great week of learning at Discovery. Earlier this week I was visiting some classrooms to learn all about math. I was especially impressed by our fourth and fifth graders, who proudly taught me all about tape diagrams. They did a fantastic job explaining their thinking (and answering my questions), so be sure to ask your child what a tape diagram is and how they use it!

This month, our schoolwide focus is on perseverance. Students are talking about ways to push through challenges, stick with difficult tasks, and keep working hard in their learning even when things feel tricky. These skills are so important both in and out of the classroom.

Finally, as a reminder, the levy vote is happening soon. Thank you, as always, for your continued support and partnership. We are so grateful for our Discovery families!

Warmly,
Rachel
