Dear Discovery Families,
This Thanksgiving, I want to take a moment to share how grateful I am for our Discovery Elementary community.
The recent storm has been hard on many of us, and I know some families are still recovering. Even during tough times, I am amazed by the kindness, strength, and care I see in our students, families, and staff every day.
With the support of a grant from the Issaquah Schools Foundation (ISF), we were able to bring the PurposeFull People curriculum from CharacterStrong to Discovery this year. This evidence-based program for PreK–5th grade helps us teach important social-emotional skills and character strengths. This month, our focus is on gratitude, choosing to appreciate the people and things in our lives, and I want to express how thankful I am for each of you. Together, we make Discovery a wonderful place for learning, growth, and community.
